You do your doodle. It feels all pretty, but a little empty. So you go ahead and color it, bam, you’re left wondering whether you’ve taken it too far.

I just doodled this yesterday, and I’m not sure if I’ve gone and spoiled it with all the colors. Maybe I should’ve just reined it in a bit. What do you say?

This is my very first post on ‘The art melon’! So yaey! 😀
And while I would have loved to begin this post with some interesting/funny/awesome story about how I came up with the name of the blog itself, truth is, there’s no such story there. I just happen to love watermelons, and I’d like to think that the name of the blog is a fun, if not clever play on the fruit’s name. xD
(*ahem* Also, don’t tell anyone, but there’s a slight possibility that I might have been feeling a little ‘snacky’ at the time, and for some reason I couldn’t get my brain to think past watermelons and berries. :P)
So here we are now, and well, here’s to new beginnings! Cheers! 😀
